About Us

After six successful years operating Joey’s World Indoor Playground, owners Gord and Nina Gill saw an exciting opportunity to move into their own freestanding building. They decided to introduce a new activity geared towards adults and older children, filling a gap in the region’s offerings.

Inspired by the tremendous growth of indoor climbing over the last decade and the inclusion of climbing events in the 2020 Olympics, they created Pinnacle Indoor Climbing. They envisioned a fun, inviting, and challenging indoor climbing facility for the people of Durham.

Pinnacle Indoor Climbing, which has been open since 2019, features a roof raised to 40 feet and a certified speed climbing wall that replicates the one used by Olympians. The climbing walls were built by IMPACT Climbing, one of the premier indoor rock climbing builders in the world, ensuring a physically challenging and visually stunning climbing center. This combination offers an exciting new experience for the community.
