After 6 years of successfully operating Joey’s World Indoor Playground, the owners had an opportunity to move into their own free standing building – When that opportunity presented itself the owners wanted to add some other physical, fun activity more geared towards older children and adults that was lacking in the region.
They would regularly have parents of children in the playground ask to go up their small climbing wall so we did some research. On its own, indoor climbing has shown tremendous growth in the last decade and after learning that the 2020 Olympics was going to be hosting the first ever events in climbing, Pinnacle Indoor Climbing was born!
We wanted to build a fun, inviting and challenging indoor climbing facility for the people of Durham – so we raised our roof up to 40’, put in a certified speed climbing wall that replicates what the Olympians will be racing on, hired one of the premier indoor rock climbing builders in the world to create a physically challenging and visually appealing climbing centre. I mean where else can you look out over a climbing route you just completed and see boats on Lake Ontario! Come help us grow the climbing culture in Durham and the GTA.
